INHALATION
During inhalation
- The ribcage moves upwards and outwards.
- The diaphragm flatten and contracts.
- Air from outside enters into the lungs.
- The volume in thoracic cavity increases.
- The air pressure in thoracic cavity decreases.
EXHALATION
During exhalation:
- The ribcage moves downwards and inwards.
- The diaphragm flatten and curves upwards.
- The air pressure in te thoracic increases.
- The volume in the thoracic cavity decreases.
- The air is forced out of the lungs.
